Expertise

Strategy, engineering, and security in one team.

End-to-end support from concept validation to production, with security integrated from the first architecture conversation rather than audited at the end.

Core service areas

Agentic software development

AI agents paired with senior engineers across the delivery cycle: scaffolding, migrations, test coverage, and integration work at a pace a traditional team cannot staff for.

  • Agent-assisted delivery with human review on every commit
  • LLM and ML systems that are explainable and auditable
  • Evaluation harnesses and regression suites
  • Integration with your existing stack and processes

Hardware & IoT development

Designing and building connected hardware from prototype to production, including the parts most consultancies hand off, like DFM and certification.

  • IoT device prototyping and embedded systems
  • PCB design and manufacturing coordination
  • Design for manufacturing and supplier management
  • Certification, testing, and post-launch support

Connected products & systems

Software, firmware, and connectivity integrated into something a person can actually use, with the data path secured end to end.

  • Cloud-connected device architecture
  • Mobile and web application integration
  • Sensor fusion and data processing
  • UX design for connected products

Strategy & digital transformation

Scoping and sequencing the technology work before it starts, so the roadmap accounts for what manufacturing, compliance, and security will demand later.

  • Digital maturity assessment
  • Technology roadmap development
  • Legacy system modernisation
  • Digital-first business model innovation

How we build

Agentic development is fast. Unreviewed agentic development is a liability.

We use AI agents throughout delivery because they genuinely compress timelines. We also spent two decades in cybersecurity, building an award-winning IoT security device and taking it to mass production. That is exactly why we do not ship what an agent wrote without reading it.

The speed is the easy part. The judgement about what to check is the work.

How we approach security
  • Human review on every commit

Agents draft; senior engineers approve. Nothing reaches a branch that a person who understands the system has not read.

  • Security review as a gate

Threat modelling, dependency and secrets scanning, and a review of anything touching auth, crypto, or customer data. Before merge, not after launch.

  • Provenance you can audit

We track what was agent-generated and what was hand-written, so your team inherits a codebase it can reason about.

  • Speed where it is safe

Scaffolding, migrations, test coverage, and integration glue move fast. Architecture and security-critical paths stay deliberate.

Secure by design

Security is a constraint we design against, not a report we deliver.

RMBG came out of cybersecurity. Our founder built and shipped an award-winning IoT security device, which means we have lived the difference between a product that passed a pen test and a product that was designed not to need one.

That perspective is what makes agent-assisted delivery safe to run at speed. We have written up what it now costs to get a connected product certified in the EU and US, in our 2026 certification map.

  • Threat modelling before architecture is fixed
  • Secure-by-design development across firmware and cloud
  • Embedded security for constrained hardware
  • Privacy-preserving AI and data handling
  • Dependency, secrets, and supply-chain scanning
  • Compliance and certification support

Three ways to engage

Most engagements move through all three, but you can start anywhere.

Strategic foresight

We help you navigate the technology landscape, find the opportunity worth chasing, and scope it properly before anyone writes code or cuts a PCB.

  • Technology opportunity scans
  • Requirements & estimation workshops
  • Digital transformation roadmaps
  • Business model innovation

What we have built

A sample of shipped work. Client names are withheld, but the systems are real and in production.

Cybersecurity

Consumer hardware security device

Our own product: an award-winning device protecting travellers on untrusted networks. Taken from concept through certification to mass production and worldwide distribution.

Shipped to 125+ countries, with retail in the US, Europe and Japan. $3M raised.

  • Hardware
  • Firmware
  • Cloud backend

Connected wellness

Patented connected wellness device

A flexible, patented consumer device with a companion app: hardware bring-up, firmware, a Bluetooth link, and on-device personalisation driven by usage signals. The data involved is intimate, so privacy was an architectural constraint rather than a policy page.

Patented hardware, working firmware and a companion app delivered from concept to a production-ready device.

  • Patented hardware
  • Firmware
  • Mobile app
  • Privacy engineering

Hospitality

Beverage procurement platform

A procurement system for hospitality operators, connecting venues to suppliers with catalogue, ordering, and reconciliation in one flow. Now a leading solution in its category.

Operating at scale across hospitality venues.

  • Platform engineering
  • Integrations
  • Cloud

Connected fitness

Wearable EMS training system

Hardware and firmware for a wearable electrical muscle stimulation suit and its wireless power pack: dry-electrode drive, safety limits, battery management, and a Bluetooth link to the training app. We owned the device side, not the app.

A consumer-grade wearable stimulation device fit for unsupervised home use.

  • Wearable hardware
  • Firmware
  • Battery management
  • BLE

Air cargo

Mobile RFID authentication for freight handling

A portable, ruggedised card reader that verifies the identity of freight handlers at a major European airport. Built on LTE-M for coverage and resilience across an unpredictable airside environment.

Deployed with several large cargo handlers, cutting delays in pickup and delivery.

  • Embedded hardware
  • LTE-M
  • Secure identity

Micromobility

Autonomous e-bike rental for mountain towns

An end-to-end rental platform for e-bikes in alpine resort towns: unattended pickup and return, fleet state, payments, and remote diagnostics, running without staff on site.

Rentals run unattended, with the fleet monitored and serviced remotely.

  • IoT fleet
  • Payments
  • Remote diagnostics

Social

Invite-only dating platform

A members-only dating product where the hard problems were trust rather than matching: identity verification, vetting and moderation flows, and keeping sensitive personal data tightly scoped.

A curated membership product with vetting built into the core flow.

  • Identity verification
  • Trust & safety
  • Mobile
  • Privacy engineering

Micromobility

Connected capsule for e-bike storage and charging

We turned a physical bike capsule into a smart device: charge monitoring to prevent overcharge and battery fire, tamper detection, phone and smartwatch access, and an LTE uplink for live status.

Enabled peer-to-peer rental of privately owned e-bikes with theft and fire protection.

  • Sensor design
  • Firmware
  • Safety systems

Real estate

Smart storage in residential parking structures

Rather than fitting a sensor to every unit, we used residents’ phones as the sensing layer over Bluetooth, giving near-real-time occupancy with no per-unit hardware cost.

Piloted in two multifamily buildings; replaced keys and codes entirely.

  • Bluetooth
  • Mobile app
  • Systems design

How we scale

Three layers, assembled to fit the problem.

A boutique firm should not mean a small bench. We combine agentic delivery with a senior core team and a global network of specialists, which is how a team our size takes on hardware, firmware, cloud, and security at the same time.

Time zones become an advantage rather than a tax: work moves overnight, and when a product goes into manufacturing we have people who can stand on the factory floor.

  1. AI agents

Agents take the mechanical engineering load: scaffolding, migrations, test coverage, refactors, integration work. Directed by engineers, reviewed on every commit.

  2. A senior core team

The people who own the architecture and the security decisions, and who stay on the engagement from scoping through production.

  3. Specialists worldwide

Near-shore and offshore engineers and domain experts across Europe, Asia and the Americas, including hardware people near the factories that build your product.

Research, not just delivery

It is why we are comfortable being handed a problem with no obvious precedent.

  • Connected hardware
  • Sensing & signal processing
  • Secure device architecture
  • Battery & safety systems
  • On-device personalisation

We run our own R&D alongside client work, on connected hardware, sensing, and secure device architecture. Some of it has become patented intellectual property, including hardware now shipping in consumer products.

The rest becomes leverage: a sensing approach, a firmware pattern, or a security model we have already proven, so a client problem starts from something working rather than from a blank page.
